As a life-long equestrian, this oil painting series is truly special. I hope you'll see the joy in it as well. As a small business owner (Corporate to Canvas), time in the saddle is a special experience. It's almost like a meditation where I am disconnected from every day realities; where I simply get to enjoy riding and the connection to an animal.
Creating these paintings brings me back to that feeling. When I am in my art studio, working at my computer, or even on Zoom, being surrounded by paintings of the ' View From Above' reminds me of one of my favorite places to be. This is a special place for us riders, one that only we get to see. Traditional straight-on portraits are beautiful, but it is my intention to stretch our vision and connect with the feeling from the rider's point-of-view.
